Name of the Game

Hi y'all sport enthusiasts!

The name of the game last weekend was Australian rules football! For the sake of Johannes' birthday we headed to the Gabba stadium to see our first live match!

Footy is played on the cricket field and you are allowed to either kick the ball or to hit it with your fist. The ball is oval and bounces completely irrationally making the game absurdly hilarious. The players are really fast and the ball can change possession 10 times in 10 seconds. We love it!

The happy crowd! Attendance was 17 000!

Welcome!

Lion face masks!

Hugging our mascot!

Brisbane's team came from the lion's mouth.

And ran through a flag.

Warm up with kids!

Excited!

The umpire started the game fiercely!

Ball bounced really high!

A pile!

Our Lions scored!
The atmosphere at the game was very chilled and happy. There was no bashing or hooliganism. There were babies, kids, elderly people and adults. When ever Lions scored, the gentlemen below made the crowd shout the name of the scorer and that he's alright!

"Dayne Zorko, he's alright! Yay!"

It was dark and cold (15 C). People had beanies and quilted jackets.

Footy is the funniest game on Earth! A lot of hustle!

The umpire launches the ball to the sky.

Sydney Swans won after a tight battle.

It was fun!

The Gabba from our hill.
Enjoy your sports!

Elixir of life

Water is important. You can bathe in it, swim in it, wash you clothes in it and travel on or in it. There is surfing, scuba diving, fishing, canoeing. Plus you can drink water. The city of Brisbane agrees and complies.

The water in the river is not recommended for drinking.

Luckily, the city is spotted with drinking fountains.

Different shapes.

Different heights.

For many simultaneously.

This one is robust and on a bridge.

The boardwalk is quite long.

So stop for a sip!

Waiting for the train.

Under the bridge down town.

This one is protected as it serves boiling water.

This one hits the unsuspected thirst quencher in the nose.

What about this old house. Any water?

Well, they look kinda rusty...

But looking further...

Quality tap water found once more!

An old drinking fountain.

The lion doesn't like being dry.

The university is taking affirmative action to support the use of tap water.

Bottled water and tap water having a battle.

Ice was pre-applied to the cups in this restaurant.

Good night Brisbane!

And good night y'all! Drink water and prosper!
